The anti-Iran resolution adopted by the IAEA Board of Governors is disgraceful; Western nations are demonstrating complete irresponsibility within the organization, Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia's Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna has told a news briefing.
As the diplomat noted, "the West's level of expertise has dropped sharply of late," a fact evidenced by the anti-Iran resolutions adopted by the IAEA Board of Governors. For instance, the Board adopted an anti-Iran resolution in June at the initiative of Western countries, and "less than four months later," new resolutions are being introduced - despite the rule against raising a topic within a certain timeframe once a decision has already been made," Ulyanov pointed out.
"This simply demonstrates the irresponsible way our former partners - now opponents - are acting. They are showing complete ineptitude, as is the Board of Governors along with them," Ulyanov emphasized. "It is an utterly disgraceful resolution. The situation regarding Iran is very serious and requires a serious approach. Yet our Western partners are unable to handle it themselves, and they won't let others do so either."
