Work continues on placing the Sarmat missile complex on combat duty — commander

Currently, the Russian Strategic Missile Forces already have over 88% of modern missile hardware in their operational inventory

MOSCOW, November 27. /TASS/. Work on putting Russia’s newest silo-based Sarmat missile system on combat duty is underway, Russian Strategic Missile Forces Commander Colonel General Sergey Karakayev said.

"As of today, fifth-generation Yars and Avangard missile systems have been introduced in the Strategic Missile Forces. Work continues on placing the newest silo-based Sarmat missile system with a liquid-fueled super-heavy missile on combat duty," he said in an article for the Russian Defense Ministry’s research and methodological journal.

It was specified that the implementation of the state program has allowed for stable rates of re-arming missile troops, while currently, the Russian Strategic Missile Forces already have over 88% of modern missile hardware in their operational inventory.
