HAVANA, April 2. /TASS/. A shipment of oil from Russia’s Anatoly Kolodkin tanker will gradually improve Cuba's fuel situation in the coming weeks, President Miguel Diaz-Canel stated, thanking Russia and its leader Vladimir Putin for sending the tanker to the island.
"Thank you, Russia. Thank you, President Putin. Thanks to the crew of the Anatoly Kolodkin tanker, whose arrival in a Cuban port with valuable fuel supplies reinforces our confidence in a friendship proven through the most challenging times, as has often been the case throughout history," the president wrote on his X page. Diaz-Canel noted the country’s authorities’ intention to "continue defending Cuba’s sovereign right to import fuel without any interference or pressure."
The Cuban president also said that "work is underway to unload, process, distribute, and use this shipment rationally, which <...> will gradually improve the situation in the coming weeks."
