RIYADH, March 24. /TASS/. The US delegation at today’s talks in Riyadh with Russia is being led by Andrew Peek, a senior director at the White House National Security Council, and Michael Anton, a senior State Department official, sources told Reuters.
Earlier reports said the US delegation had dispatched Anton, who is Director of the Policy Planning Staff of the Department of State, as well as aides to Donald Trump’s special envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz for the talks. The US has not officially disclosed the names of its negotiators.
On Monday morning, Russia and the United States began another round of talks in the Saudi capital. Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Grigory Karasin and Advisor to the Director of the Federal Security Service (FSB) Sergey Beseda are representing Russia at the negotiations.
Kremlin Aide Yury Ushakov has said the two sides will discuss reviving the Black Sea grain initiative as a follow-up after a recent phone call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart, Donald Trump.
