US halts sending military supplies to Ukraine via Poland — media

The supplies are redirected to a nearby base of the US 82nd Airborne Division

MOSCOW, March 5. /TASS/. The military supplies arriving from the US at the logistics hub in the Polish city of Rzeszow are no longer transported to Ukraine but are redirected to a nearby base of the US 82nd Airborne Division, the onet.pl news website reported.

"Until recently, we received supplies delivered from the US by planes, reloaded them onto trucks or rail cars, and sent them towards the Ukrainian border. Now, based on the Americans’ request, all transport vehicles arriving from the US are unloaded and sent to a nearby US army base," one of the hub’s Polish employees told the news outlet. He added that "the supplies are expected to wait for a further decision" at the US base.

Members of the US 82nd Airborne Division arrived in Rzeszow in the first half of 2022. According to unofficial data, the number of troops stands at about 10,000.

The news website notes that military supplies arriving in Rzeszow from other countries continue to be delivered to Ukraine.
