Israeli Air Force strikes refugee camp on West Bank — TV

Firearms and improvised explosive devices are being used against the Israeli military, Al Jazeera reports

DUBAI, February 14. /TASS/. The Israeli Air Force has struck a refugee camp on the West Bank, the Qatari television channel Al Jazeera reported.

According to its data, Israeli military drones dropped several bombs on Palestinian homes in the Jenin refugee camp on the West Bank. There has been no information yet on the number of casualties as a result of the strike.

The channel also reports on violent clashes between Palestinian resistance units and IDF soldiers in the Askar refugee camp, located east of the city of Nablus, on the West Bank. It is noted that firearms and improvised explosive devices are being used against the Israeli military.

The situation in the Middle East sharply escalated following an incursion of Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip into Israel on October 7, 2023, accompanied by killings of residents of Israeli settlements near the border and taking hostages. In response, Israel launched a ground military operation in the Palestinian enclave. The fighting continued until January 19 of this year, when a ceasefire came into effect in Gaza, as stipulated in an agreement concluded between Israel and Hamas with the mediation of Egypt, Qatar and the United States.
