BRICS summit showed Russia not isolated, Congo's foreign minister says in Russian

Jean-Claude Gakosso welcomed "Russia's diplomatic success on the international stage"

MOSCOW, November 8. /TASS/. The success of the recent BRICS summit in Russia showed that efforts to isolate the country failed, Republic of the Congo Foreign Minister Jean-Claude Gakosso said.

He made the statement at a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on the sidelines of the first ministerial conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum, according to a video of the talks that Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova posted to Telegram.

"I would like to congratulate Russia on the success of the BRICS Summit in Kazan," he said. "I would like to welcome Russia's diplomatic success on the international stage. Many said that Russia was in diplomatic isolation, and now everyone has seen that almost half of the world gathered in Kazan."
