US estimates Ukrainian losses at roughly 190,000 troops — The Economist

The British weekly also points out that amid the mobilization of men, increasingly more women are starting to work in Ukrainian industries

LONDON, November 13. /TASS/. According to a US estimate, at least 70,000 Ukrainian troops have died in the military conflict with Russia, The Economist wrote, citing officials in the Biden administration.

According to the British weekly, another 120,000 Ukrainian soldiers have sustained wounds.

Amid the mobilization of men, increasingly more women are starting to work in Ukrainian industries, with female workers joining coal-mining and construction projects, The Economist wrote.

The Ukrainian army has been making unsuccessful attempts at an offensive since June 4. Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said on October 30 that Kiev had lost over 90,000 servicemen killed and wounded, as well as about 600 tanks and 1,900 armored vehicles of various classes. According to Russia’s defense chief, Ukraine failed to achieve any tactically significant successes. On 15 October, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the counter-offensive of the Ukrainian armed forces had completely failed, although Kiev was preparing new active offensive operations in some areas of the front.
