MOSCOW, September 23. /TASS/. Attempts by the West to isolate Russia and cancel Russian culture have failed, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said in an interview with TASS ahead of the 12th St. Petersburg International United Cultures Forum.

"If we talk about the 'thaw,' we understand that attempts to cancel Russian culture and isolate the country have, of course, failed. As for our forum, after 2022, we reconsidered the approaches we had used even before the pandemic and even changed its name, highlighting Russia's unifying role as a conduit for spiritual, cultural, and traditional values," she said.

Golikova noted that the small-scale discussions previously held at the forum have developed into discussions of broader topics related to the role of culture and the cultural sovereignty of states amid changes in the global order.

The St. Petersburg International United Cultures Forum will be held from September 24 to 26. Its main theme is "United Cultures - Common Values." The forum will feature 10 thematic sections. TASS is the forum's general media partner.
