Putin slams AI spread in infocommunications as 'serious challenge'

The Russian leader noted that it is necessary to establish modern standards and rules aimed at ensuring reliable protection and information confidentiality and raising the effectiveness of countering digital risks

MOSCOW, September 22. /TASS/. The spread of AI and the associated threats are a serious challenge in the field of infocommunications, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his greeting to participants of the Dialogue about Fakes 4.0 forum.

"One of the most serious challenges in the infocommunications sphere is the rapid spread of AI technologies and the associated threats. In this regard, it is necessary to establish modern standards and rules aimed at ensuring reliable protection and information confidentiality and raising the effectiveness of countering digital risks," the Russian leader said in a message read by TASS Director General Andrey Kondrashov.

The Dialogue about Fakes 4.0 forum is a global platform for discussing methods to counter disinformation and develop fact-checking technologies. The event is organized by the Global Fact-Checking Network (GFCN), established in 2025 by the TASS news agency, the autonomous nonprofit organization "Dialogue Regions," and the New Media Workshop.

TASS is the forum’s strategic media partner.
