Russia open for international space cooperation, says Roscosmos chief

It is reported that the isolation method is erroneous and criminal not only in relation to Russia but also in relation to the peoples of those countries that suffer the consequences of such policy

MOSCOW, November 17. /TASS/. The Russian space agency Roscosmos is ready to develop cooperation with all interested countries, Roscosmos Chief Yury Borisov told TASS on Thursday.

"Our President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stated that Russia is open for cooperation with all those who are interested in it. It was not us who started this crusade for Russia’s isolation… Roscosmos adheres to the same position: we are open for cooperation with all those who are interested in that," Borisov said.

The isolation method is erroneous and criminal not only in relation to Russia but also in relation to the peoples of those countries that suffer the consequences of such policy, he said.

"Communication at the level of the heads of space agencies is a guarantee of fundamental security in outer space. This concerns not only the Russian space but also Russia as a whole. It is necessary to avoid creating the information vacuum. It is important for Russia to know and understand what NASA is doing and what its intentions are," the Roscosmos head explained.

Roscosmos faces the major tasks of making and launching satellites to provide the national economy with all the required services, bolster the nuclear shield and explore deep space, he pointed out.

"This task [the exploration of deep space] requires not only huge investment that is frequently costly for one state but also technological and scientific cooperation. Various countries possess different competences and it is possible to achieve the goals set only by way of uniting them," he stressed.
