MOSCOW, September 18. /TASS/. Kiev seeks to undermine the parliamentary election process in Russia’s frontline and border regions by attacking civilians, Rodion Miroshnik, the Russian Foreign Ministry’s ambassador-at-large in charge of overseeing the Kiev regime’s crimes, said.

He noted in a Telegram post that a district election commission head had been killed and another one injured in the Zaporozhye Region over the previous two days.

"All these actions by the enemy cannot be seen other than attempts to disrupt the election process in frontline and border regions and affect the ability of Russian citizens to democratically express their will. Meanwhile, in Ukraine, the green-clad dictator only deigns to explain why the country cannot hold elections and why it’s possible to ignore the people’s will when it comes to deciding the country’s future," the diplomat stressed.

According to him, the high risk of attacks on election commissions and polling stations in the area persists. "Most of them are powered by diesel generators as the Ukrainian army keeps attacking the centralized power system," Miroshnik added.

Russian voters are electing members of the 9th State Duma (lower house of parliament) on September 18-20.
