MOSCOW, November 9. /TASS/. Moldova’s Ambassador to Moscow Lilian Darii was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday where he was handed a note declaring an employee of the Moldovan Embassy as persona non grata following the expulsion of an employee of Russia’s Embassy in Chisinau.
"On November 9, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova to the Russian Federation Lilian Darii was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry where he was handed the ministry’s note on declaring an employee of the Moldovan Embassy in Moscow as persona non grata," the ministry’s statement reads. "This measure was in response to the November 1 absolutely unfounded decision by the Moldovan side to declare an employee of the Russian Embassy in Moldova as persona non grata."
Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the decision to expel an employee of the Russian diplomatic mission in Chisinau became yet another confirmation of Moldova’s current course towards dismantling bilateral cooperation.
