Called-up troops should be trained behind frontlines — Russian Defense Minister

It is stressed that the units formed by mobilized servicemen should be led by officers who can unite the troops and manage the execution of missions under any conditions

INTEGRATED RUSSIAN TROOP COMMAND POST, November 9. /TASS/. The training of mobilized servicemen before their deployment to the active combat zone should take place in tactical rear areas by officers with combat experience, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu told the Commander of Russia’s Integrated Group of Forces in Ukraine, Army General Sergey Surovikin during his report on Wednesday.

"Sergey Vladimirovich, I am drawing your attention to the training and deployment of the called-up servicemen. Before being sent to active combat areas it is necessary to deploy them behind the frontlines where joint training should be conducted with personnel who have combat experience. Only those servicemen with skills in their military specialties should be sent to the frontline. The units formed by mobilized servicemen should be led by officers who can unite the troops and manage the execution of missions under any conditions," he said.
