Putin emphasizes the need to discuss situation in Syria with UAE President

The Russian president underscored that the role and the influence of the UAE on the situation in the region is "of course, very high"

ST. PETERSBURG, October 11. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin noted during the meeting with UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan that he would like to discuss the situation in Syria with him.

"It is very important for me to discuss issues connected to the situation in Syria and around it with you," Putin said during the meeting Tuesday.

He added that it is also important to discuss the situation in the region in general with the UAE President.

"A lot of problems remain there as well," the Russian President noted.

He underscored that the role and the influence of the UAE on the situation in the region is "of course, very high."

Putin thanked his counterpart for the visit, adding that he remembers his visit to the UAE in 2019 and will not forget it.
