NEW YORK, November 4. /TASS/. The Democratic party has won the majority of votes in the midterms, gaining control of the House of Representatives, according to projections from Bloomberg.

Democrats will end up with at least 223 seats in the lower chamber of Congress, with a total of 218 seats required to secure a majority in the House, while Republicans have secured 126 House seats, the projections showed.

According to the same projections, Democrats will control at least 54 seats in the Senate against the GOP’s 41.

NBC News projected that the Democratic Party will win 255 seats in the 435-seat House as a result of the 2026 midterm elections, securing a majority. Republicans will secure 180 seats, the television channel also projected.

Meanwhile, Democrats have secured 226 Senate seats and Republicans have won 141, calculations be NBC News showed.
