MOSCOW, May 19. /TASS/. Ukraine does not plan to withdraw troops from the parts of the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions that it controls, Vladimir Zelensky said following phone talks with US President Donald Trump.
"No one will withdraw our troops from our territories," he told reporters.
"No ultimatums. If Russia sets down the condition of withdrawing our troops <...> it means they don't want a ceasefire," he said.
In June 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with the leadership of the Foreign Ministry that Moscow is ready for such a settlement of the conflict in Ukraine that would involve recognizing the status of Crimea, Sevastopol, the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions as constituent entities of Russia. The Russian Foreign Ministry said Russia would not transfer the ZNPP to Ukraine or any other country.
