First humanitarian aid trucks go through Rafah crossing since truce collapse

According to the sources, 2 fuel trucks and 50 humanitarian aid trucks went through the Egyptian section of the Rafah crossing heading to the next checkpoint for inspection

LONDON, December 2. /TASS/. The first trucks carrying humanitarian aid have entered the Rafah crossing on the border with Egypt after the truce violation in the Gaza Strip, Reuters reported citing Egyptian security and Red Crescent sources.

According to the sources, two fuel trucks and 50 humanitarian aid trucks went through the Egyptian section of the Rafah crossing heading to the next checkpoint for inspection, the sources added.

Early on December 1, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) blamed Hamas for violating the truce and said that it was resuming combat in the Gaza Strip. The Palestinian authorities put the blame for the resumption of Israel’s combat operations in the Gaza Strip on the United States.

Tensions flared up in the Middle East after Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip attacked Israeli territory on October 7, when many Israelis living in the settlements near the border were killed and more than 200 people, including children, women and the elderly, were taken hostage. Hamas views its attack as a response to Israeli authorities’ steps against the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. Israel declared a total blockade of the Gaza Strip and launched bombardments of the enclave and some areas in Lebanon and Syria. Clashes are also reported in the West Bank.
