West needs wars to continue to exist, preserve its hegemony — Syrian president

Bashar al-Assad also urged the countries with shared principles and values to join their efforts and establish economic relations with each other which would result in "the West’s isolation"

BEIRUT, November 24. /TASS/. The West needs wars in order to continue its existence and preserve the system of its global hegemony, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said at a meeting with Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko during his visit to the Arab republic on Thursday.

"The West pursues a policy of waging wars in order to continue to exist because if these wars stop, the system of its hegemony will be dismantled," the Syrian leader stressed as quoted by SANA news agency.

"They [Western countries] failed to achieve their goals using this policy with regards to several countries, such as Syria, Russia and Belarus, so they resorted to economic wars," he added. The Syrian president also urged the countries with shared principles and values to join their efforts and establish economic relations with each other which would result in "the West’s isolation."
