VIENNA, June 7. /TASS/. Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto asserted that he concurred with the opinion of Speaker of Hungary’s National Assembly Laszlo Kover on Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s mental health issues which can explain his attacks on foreign leaders. He expressed this opinion on his Facebook page (outlawed in Russia, owned by Meta considered extremist organization in Russia) on Monday.
"When during recent months, tens of thousands of people in Hungary have been working for the sake of helping Ukraine and Ukrainian people, Ukrainian politicians constantly talk about Hungary using an unacceptable tone, provoke us, make up lies and attempt to slander us never expressing any gratitude. Proceeding from this, Laszlo Kover is absolutely right [with regards to Zelenky’s mental health] even if this upsets the Ukrainians," the Hungarian top diplomat noted.
Last week, Kover in an interview with Hungary’s Hir TV news channel expressed an opinion that statements by the Ukrainian president sometimes sound very strange, the leaders of other countries do not use such a tone with regards to their colleagues. The top lawmaker noted that "both in personal life and politics" people usually refrain from threatening those "whom they want to be friends with." He suggested that Zelensky is possibly experiencing "some personal mental problem" yet it is "unknown what can be done about it.".
