MOSCOW, October 1. /TASS/. The BRICS+ Fashion Summit in Moscow has brought together representatives from more than 100 countries over its four seasons, the press service of the Moscow Department of Culture said.
"Over four seasons, the BRICS+ Fashion Summit has brought together representatives from more than 100 countries, or half of the world’s nations. Every year, forum participants discuss key issues facing the industry. This time, the main focus was the impact of global economic, social and technological transformations on the fashion industry," Moscow Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina said, according to the statement.
The fourth BRICS+ Fashion Summit was held from September 28 to 30 and brought together experts from Russia and more than 60 other countries, including Belarus, Kazakhstan, Brazil, China, Mexico, India and Malaysia. The forum in Moscow brought together designers, stylists, government officials, industry associations and business representatives, university professors, journalists and bloggers.
The fourth season’s business program included 26 plenary sessions on supporting local brands, new trends, attracting investment, the role of traditional crafts in the design industry and other topics. The forum also continued its tradition of holding exhibitions highlighting the diverse cultures of Russia and the BRICS countries. The Khokhloma brand presented an exhibition titled "Khokhloma x Russian Designers."
Previous editions of the summit also resulted in invitations for 23 Russian designers from across the country, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Murmansk, Ulan-Ude, Yakutsk and Komsomolsk-on-Amur, to take part in industry events in different countries. They have already visited India, Tunisia, Costa Rica, South Africa and Ethiopia. In 2024, participants signed a declaration on establishing the International BRICS Fashion Federation, which includes 60 countries.
