Cosmonaut Kononenko congratulates TASS, its audience on Cosmonautics Day

He wished the agency "borderless creative plans and cosmical perspectives"

INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION, April 12. /TASS/. On Cosmonautics Day, TASS special correspondent aboard the International Space Station (ISS) Oleg Kononenko congratulated the TASS Russian news agency, its readers and subscribers from space.

"I congratulate the TASS news agency's team and readers on Cosmonautics Day. 60 years ago, TASS was the first to inform the world about Yury Alexeevich Gagarin’s flight into space through a device called teleprinter. We, cosmonauts, are now a part of your team, participating in your creative projects and playing active role in producing the newswire and informing the public," Kononenko said in his video address.

"As special correspondents aboard the ISS, we are trying to provide an interesting and unbiased coverage of space news and evens on board the ISS, attracting new audiences," he said, wishing the agency "borderless creative plans and cosmical perspectives."

On April 12, Russia celebrates Cosmonautics Day, which was established by a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated April 9, 1962, "to mark the first human space flight." In 2011, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution recognizing April 12 as the International Day of Human Space Flight.
