MOSCOW, June 21. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stressed that it is inadmissible to pander the Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist group which is seeking to affiliate itself with the US-oriented opposition, the Russian foreign ministry said on Tuesday after Lavrov’s telephone conversation with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry.
"The conversation focused on the problems of the Syrian settlement, including measures to enhance the ceasefire regime and step up uncompromising fight against terrorists," the ministry said. "Sergey Lavrov once again drew attention to the inadmissibility of pandering the Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist group which is hiding behind the US-oriented opposition and even closely cooperating with it."
The ministry added that preliminary conditions should be dropped to resume intra-Syrian talks.
