MOSCOW, November 6. /TASS/. Servicemen from the Ukrainian National Guard’s Azov 12th brigade (recognized as terrorist and banned in Russia), may have asked the Latvian government to grant them political asylum during military drills in Latvia, Russian security forces told TASS.

According to a source, Azov militants participated in drills with the Latvian National Guard, practicing repelling a simulated assault with drones.

"In fact, the Azov servicemen may have discussed with the Latvian authorities the granting of political asylum to the Azov Nazis," he noted.

The source also pointed out that the Ukrainian militants familiarized themselves with their Latvian colleagues' training and unit management approaches.
