MOSCOW, May 25. /TASS/. Overnight, air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 173 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
A large-scale attack by Ukrainian UAVs was repelled near Yaroslavl, where a woman sustained a shrapnel wound.

Attack scale
- Air defense forces on duty intercepted and destroyed 173 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones over Russian regions during the night, the Defense Ministry reported.
- According to the ministry, the UAVs were shot down over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kaluga, Kostroma, Kursk, Lipetsk, Oryol, Ryazan, Smolensk, Tver, Tula, Yaroslavl, and Moscow regions, as well as the Republic of Crimea.
Aftermath
- A large-scale Ukrainian UAV attack was repelled near Yaroslavl, where a woman sustained a minor shrapnel wound, regional Governor Mikhail Yevrayev reported on his Max channel.
- The woman declined hospitalization.
- Due to the drone attack, traffic was temporarily suspended on the road leading from Yaroslavl toward Moscow for safety reasons.
- Traffic has since resumed.
- A Ukrainian UAV attack left nine districts of the Kherson Region without power, regional governor Vladimir Saldo reported on his Max channel.
- Emergency power outages affected the districts of Genichesk, Novotroitsk, Chaplinka, Kalanchak, Ivanovka, Nizhniye Sirogozy, Gornostayevka, and Kakhovka, as well as the city of Novokakhovka.
- Utility crews and emergency responders are already on site and are doing everything possible to restore electricity as quickly as possible.
- Five civilians were injured in a Ukrainian drone strike on the Kalininsky District of Gorlovka in the DPR, the city’s mayor Ivan Prikhodko reported on his Max channel.
- He added that several residential buildings in the area were damaged in the attack.
