Attempts made to ignite separatism in Russia, people show unity — Kremlin

However, according to Magomedsalam Magomedov, Russia’s people usually "display even greater unity and consolidation" during difficult times

MOSCOW, November 17. /TASS/. Russia’s opponents want to stir up separatism in the country using interethnic relations but the Russian people, as they always do in difficult situations, have become even more united, Magomedsalam Magomedov, deputy head of the Russian presidential administration, said on Thursday.

"Modern times call for modern measures. There is a geopolitical standoff in our country. Our enemies and opponents aren’t giving up in their efforts to destabilize the situation in our country by, among other things, attempting to play the interethnic card and launching separatist processes," he stated.

However, according to him, Russia’s people usually "display even greater unity and consolidation" during difficult times. "This is happening now as well," he stressed at a research and training conference marking the 10th anniversary of the implementation of the strategy of the state national policy.

The Kremlin official noted that Russia needs to learn to respond to new challenges. "This is why the goal of this conference is, among other things, to analyze everything accomplished over this decade and work out new ideas and proposals which will work even better towards our common goal - the bolstering of the Russian nation’s unity," he concluded.
