Russia can attain its goals in Ukraine both via special operation, talks — Kremlin

Dmitry Peskov noted that Russia’s goals were conveyed to the Ukrainian side in detail during negotiations in March "and the Ukrainians know them well"

MOSCOW, November 17. /TASS/. Russia's goals in settling the Ukrainian crisis are well-known and can be achieved both through negotiations and by conducting the special military operation, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said replying to a question as to which side should resume communication.

"Any talks have a goal. Our goals are well-known and these goals can be achieved either by means of the special military operation or via negotiations. Russia is open to both," the Kremlin official stressed.

Peskov noted that Russia’s goals were conveyed to the Ukrainian side in detail during negotiations in March "and the Ukrainians know them well." Moreover, according to Putin’s press secretary, negotiators from both delegations had negotiated, in principle, an agreement in Istanbul in March "so our position and the position of our president on this is exhaustively clear and known." However, Kiev codified the impossibility of continuing talks with the Russian side, Peskov concluded.
