Russian air defenses intercept three HIMARS rockets in Ukraine operation — top brass

MOSCOW, November 15. /TASS/. Russian air defense forces destroyed seven Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles and intercepted three HIMARS rockets in the past day in the special military operation in Ukraine, Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov reported on Tuesday.

"During the past 24 hours, air defense capabilities destroyed seven unmanned aerial vehicles in the areas of the settlements of Salkovo, Radensk and Tavriysk in the Kherson Region, Novokrasnyanka and Krasnorechenskoye in the Lugansk People’s Republic and Novoandreyevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the spokesman said.

In addition, Russian air defense forces intercepted three HIMARS rockets near the community of Skadovsk in the Kherson Region, the general added.

Russian troops thwarted an attempt by two Ukrainian company tactical groups to advance towards the community of Kuzemovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic in the Kupyansk direction, eliminating as many as 100 militants and pushing the enemy back, Konashenkov reported.

"In the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops’ active operations thwarted an attack by two Ukrainian company tactical units in the area of the settlement of Kuzemovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic. As a result of artillery and heavy flamethrower fire, the enemy’s units were halted and pushed back to the initial frontier," the spokesman said.

During the combat, Russian troops eliminated as many as 100 Ukrainian servicemen, eight tanks, three infantry fighting vehicles, five armored and six motor vehicles, the general specified.

Russian forces eliminated about 90 Ukrainian troops in the enemy’s unsuccessful attempts to advance in the Krasny Liman area, Konashenkov reported.

"In the Krasny Liman direction, the Ukrainian military made unsuccessful attempts to advance by two company tactical groups towards the settlements of Chervonopopovka and Zolotaryovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic. Up to 90 Ukrainian servicemen were eliminated in that area in the past 24 hours as a result of comprehensive damage by firepower inflicted by Russian troops," the spokesman said.

During the combat, Russian troops destroyed one Ukrainian tank, four combat armored vehicles and five pickup trucks, the general specified.

Russian forces destroyed as many as 1,400 Ukrainian troops and two Su-25 warplanes in the battle for the community of Pavlovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Konashenkov reported.

"On November 14, the settlement of Pavlovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic was fully liberated as a result of successful offensive operations by Russian troops. During the battles for Pavlovka, Russian troops eliminated as many as 1,400 Ukrainian servicemen, two Su-25 warplanes of the Ukrainian Air Force, a Mi-8 helicopter, 27 infantry fighting vehicles and up to 30 other combat armored vehicles," the spokesman specified.

The Russian military also destroyed six Ukrainian artillery guns, including two US-made M777 howitzers, over 25 vehicles and 28 drones, the general added.

"Russian troops are continuing their offensive," Konashenkov reported.

Russian forces wiped out six Ukrainian army command posts, enemy manpower and military hardware in over 170 areas in the past day, the spokesman said.

"Operational-tactical and army aviation aircraft, missile and artillery troops obliterated six Ukrainian army command posts in the areas of the settlements of Kupyansk in the Kharkov Region, Stelmakhovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic, Chernobayevka in the Kherson Region, Petrovskoye, Verkhnekamenskoye and Nevelskoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic, and also 82 artillery units at firing positions, manpower and military hardware in 178 areas," the spokesman said.

Russian forces also wiped out a Ukrainian army ammunition depot near the community of Krasnogorovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, the general added.

In all, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed 333 Ukrainian combat aircraft, 176 helicopters, 2,511 unmanned aerial vehicles, 388 surface-to-air missile systems, 6,614 tanks and other combat armored vehicles, 891 multiple rocket launchers, 3,581 field artillery guns and mortars and 7,227 special military motor vehicles since the beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine, Konashenkov reported.
