Chinese, US leaders call meeting in Bali constructive — foreign ministry

It is noted that Beijing and Washington will continue to coordinate measures of macroeconomic policies, and will agree on details related to global trade

BEIJING, November 14. /TASS/. The Chinese and US Presidents, Xi Jinping and Joe Biden, described their meeting in Indonesia’s Bali as constructive and expressed readiness to maintain strategic communication with each other, the Chinese foreign ministry said on Monday.

"Both leaders think that the meeting was sincere and constructive," it said. "Xi Jinping and Biden arrived at a consensus that the two countries’ diplomatic structures should maintain strategic lines of communication and hold regular consultations."

According to the ministry, Beijing and Washington will continue to coordinate measures of macroeconomic policies, and will agree on details related to global trade. Apart from that, Xi Jinping and Biden spoke in favor of boosting Chinese-US cooperation in the spheres of public health, agriculture and food security.

The two leaders also expressed their commitment to combat climate change, and promote cultural and humanitarian ties between China and the United States. "The sides agreed to encourage cooperation in all spheres," the ministry added.
