Bowing to US leaves no room for EU’s independent foreign policy — Russian MFA

Ordinary Europeans, Maria Zakharova went on to say "are growing increasingly tired of permanent confrontational rhetoric and endless unfounded accusations against Russia"

MOSCOW, November 10. /TASS/. Constant bowing to Washington does not allow the EU countries to pursue independent foreign policies focused on ensuring the interests of their own citizens, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in an interview to the aif.ru online resource, published on Thursday.

"Constant bowing to Washington does not allow the EU and its countries to pursue an independent foreign policy focused on ensuring the interests of their citizens," Zakharova said.

Ordinary Europeans, she went on to say "are growing increasingly tired of permanent confrontational rhetoric and endless unfounded accusations against Russia."

"The demands for ending the conflict in Ukraine and achieving internal stabilization in the EU member countries are growing. Reports of new sanctions and regular calls for ‘punishing’ Russia economically look ever more frightening to the Europeans themselves. The only way out for people who are freezing and losing their businesses, jobs and prospects in life is to urge their leaders to be realistic," she concluded.
