MOSCOW, November 2. /TASS/. Russian air defense forces shot down over 20 HIMARS, Olkha and Uragan rockets and two American HARM anti-radar missiles in the past day in the special military operation in Ukraine, Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov reported on Wednesday.
"In the past 24 hours, air defense capabilities shot down 24 rockets of multiple launch rocket systems, including 14 HIMARS rockets in the areas of the settlements of Antonovka and Novaya Kakhovka in the Kherson Region, and also 10 Olkha and Uragan rockets in the areas of the settlements of Makeyevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic and Chernobayevka in the Kherson Region. In addition, they destroyed two American HARM anti-radar missiles in the area of the settlement of Antonovka in the Kherson Region," the spokesman said.
In the past day, Russian air defense systems shot down 12 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in the areas of the settlements of Snigiryovka in the Nikolayev Region, Ishchenka, Verovka and Obryvka in the Kherson Region, Oborotnovka and Viktorovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic, Orlyanka, Vladimirovka and Grakovo in the Kharkov Region and Polnoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic, the general added.
Russian troops eliminated about 150 Ukrainian troops and foreign mercenaries in the enemy’s unsuccessful attempts to attack in the Kupyansk area, Konashenkov reported.
"In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy’s two battalions reinforced by foreign mercenaries made an attempt to advance towards the settlements of Yagodnoye, Nikolayevka and Orlyanka in the Kharkov Region and Kuzemovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic," the spokesman said.
Russian troops inflicted damage on the enemy by firepower, the general said.
"As a result of damage inflicted by firepower and Russian troops’ active operations, the enemy was pushed back to initial positions. Up to 150 Ukrainian personnel and mercenaries, six tanks, five infantry fighting vehicles and ten motor vehicles were destroyed," Konashenkov reported.
Russian troops obliterated a Ukrainian platoon of Uragan multiple launch rocket systems in counter-battery fire in the Kharkov Region, the spokesman said.
"In counter-battery warfare, a platoon of the Ukrainian army’s Uragan multiple launch rocket systems was obliterated in the area of the settlement of Maliye Prokhody in the Kharkov Region," the spokesman said.
Russian forces thwarted a Ukrainian army breakthrough attempt in the Nikolayev-Krivoi Rog area, eliminating over 100 militants, Konashenkov reported.
"In the Nikolayev-Krivoi Rog direction, Russian troops thwarted the Ukrainian army’s breakthrough attempts in the areas of the settlements of Ishchenka, Bruskinskoye, Sukhanovo and Pyatikhatki in the Kherson Region. As a result of damage inflicted by firepower and the Russian troops’ active operations, the enemy was pushed back to initial positions," the spokesman said.
Russian troops eliminated 105 Ukrainian servicemen, two tanks, nine armored combat vehicles and seven motor vehicles, the general specified.
Russian troops obliterated an aiming and target acquisition radar of a Ukrainian S-300 anti-aircraft missile system during battles in the Nikolayev-Krivoi Rog area, Konashenkov reported.
"A Ukrainian aiming and target acquisition radar of an S-300 anti-aircraft missile system was destroyed," the spokesman said.
Russian long-range artillery, assault and army aviation aircraft thwarted the Ukrainian army’s attempts to attack several communities in the Lugansk People’s Republic, eliminating over 250 militants, Konashenkov reported.
"In the Krasny Liman direction, Russian troops struck the enemy by long-range artillery guns, assault and army aviation aircraft at distant approaches. The Ukrainian army’s attempts to advance towards the settlements of Makeyevka, Ploshchanka and Chervonopopovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic were thwarted," the spokesman said.
Russia’s strikes eliminated about 250 Ukrainian troops and destroyed two enemy tanks, two infantry fighting vehicles, five pickup trucks and two motor vehicles, the general specified.
Russian combat aircraft, missile and artillery troops wiped out the command post of the Ukrainian National Guard’s 15th regiment in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Konashenkov reported.
"Operational-tactical and army aviation aircraft, missile and artillery troops destroyed the command post of the Ukrainian National Guard’s 15th regiment in the area of the community of Kirovsk in the Donetsk People’s Republic, and also 73 artillery units at firing positions, manpower and military hardware in 169 areas," the spokesman said.
Russian fighter aircraft shot down a MiG-29 fighter jet of the Ukrainian Air Force in the Kharkov Region in the past day, Konashenkov reported.
"Fighter aircraft shot down a MiG-29 plane of the Ukrainian Air Force in the area of the settlement of Paseka in the Kharkov Region," the spokesman said.
Russian troops wiped out a Ukrainian army ammunition depot in the Donetsk People’s Republic and a fuel storage facility in the Cherkassy Region, Konashenkov reported.
"In addition, the following targets were destroyed: an ammunition depot in the area of the settlement of Yelizavetovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic and a fuel storage facility for Ukrainian military hardware near the community of Smela in the Cherkassy Region," the spokesman said.
The Ukrainian military fired nine shells against the Energodar thermal power plant and the area adjacent to the Zaporozhye nuclear power station in the past day, Konashenkov reported.
"In the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian military fired nine shells against the industrial zone of the thermal power plant in the town of Energodar and the area adjacent to the nuclear power station. The shelling attacks were carried out from the Kiev-held communities of Marganets and Chervonogrigorovka in the Dnepropetrovsk Region," the spokesman said.
The enemy’s weapon emplacements were suppressed by retaliatory fire of Russian artillery units, the general said.
"Radiation levels at the Zaporozhye NPP are normal," Konashenkov said.
In all, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed 330 Ukrainian military aircraft, 167 helicopters, 2,414 unmanned aerial vehicles, 384 surface-to-air missile systems, 6,270 tanks and other combat armored vehicles, 881 multiple rocket launchers, 3,544 field artillery guns and mortars and 6,967 special military motor vehicles since the beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine, the general reported.
