MOSCOW, February 5. /TASS/. The Deribit crypto exchange announces its exit from Russia due to sanctions introduced by the European Union, according to the statement posted on its website.
" Due to EU sanctions against Russia, Deribit is no longer able to accept Russian nationals and Russian residents as its clients, unless an exception applies. Since Deribit's parent company is Dutch, these EU sanctions are relevant to us," the crypto exchange informed.
Russian nationals are not allowed to use services of the crypto exchange, save for cases when they are also nationals of a member-country of the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland, or are residing permanently in an EEA member-state or Switzerland.
According to examples cited by the exchange, Russian nationals residing in Ireland or that are also nationals of Denmark can use Deribit services. Russians residing in the UAE also cannot use its services. No exceptions are made for Russian companies.
