MOSCOW, August 23. /TASS/. Russian troops struck fuel and energy and transport infrastructure used by the Ukrainian army and enemy deployment sites over the past 24 hours, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported.
"Operational/tactical aircraft, attack unmanned aerial vehicles, missile troops and artillery of the Russian groups of forces struck Ukraine’s fuel and energy and transport infrastructure facilities used by the Ukrainian army, an air defense radar station, workshops assembling and sites storing unmanned aerial vehicles and their components, and also temporary deployment areas of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries in 159 locations," the ministry said in a statement.
Russian air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 1,120 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), eight smart bombs and four US-made HIMARS rockets over the past 24 hours, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported. "Air defense capabilities shot down eight guided aerial bombs, four rockets of the US-made HIMARS multiple launch rocket system and 1,120 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles," the ministry said in a statement.
Russian Battlegroup West forces destroyed Ukraine’s US-made HIMARS multiple rocket launcher during the special military operation over the past day, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on Sunday. "The enemy lost over 210 troops, two armored combat vehicles, 19 motor vehicles, a US-made HIMARS multiple rocket launcher and three artillery guns," the ministry said in a statement.
The Ukrainian army lost roughly 1,355 troops in battles with Russian forces in all the frontline areas over the past 24 hours, according to the latest data on the special military operation in Ukraine released by Russia’s Defense Ministry.
The latest figures show that the Ukrainian army lost roughly 200 troops in the responsibility area of Russia’s Battlegroup North, over 210 troops in the responsibility area of the Battlegroup West and more than 225 troops in the responsibility area of the Battlegroup South.
During the last 24-hour period, the Ukrainian army also lost up to 390 troops in the responsibility area of Russia’s Battlegroup Center, more than 305 troops in the responsibility area of the Battlegroup East and roughly 25 troops in the responsibility area of the Battlegroup Dnepr, the latest figures show.
