MOSCOW, February 13. /TASS/. The Russian fifth-generation Su-57 fighter jet features enhanced maneuverability and outshines the US F-35 aircraft, Russia’s state tech corporation Rostec said on its Telegram channel, uploading a video of flight programs at the Aero India 2025 international air show in Bengaluru.
"Our Su-57 outperformed the American F-35 in the sky of Bengaluru," Rostec said.
At the Aero India air show, the Russian Su-57 and the American F-35 demonstrated their performance during flight programs. The Su-57’s performance lasted about seven minutes, during which the fifth-generation Russian fighter jet flew at extremely low altitudes of 100 meters and above. Over the designated time, the Su-57 performed more than 20 aerobatic maneuvers, including Pugachev’s Cobra, the Bell, the Barrel Roll and others, Rostec specified.
The latest Russian fighter jet features many unique solutions valued by the domestic design school, for example, the integral layout, perfect aerodynamics and vectored thrust engines, it explained.
"All these factors enhance maneuverability. The better the maneuverability, the greater the chances to get away from enemy missiles while suppressing its air defense system. This also increases the speed of the combat aircraft’s reaction to a changing environment," Rostec emphasized.
The Russian Su-57 and the American F-35 are multirole stealth aircraft but it is not quite correct to compare them, the state tech corporation explained.
"The F-35 is largely a light attack aircraft for strikes on ground targets while the Su-57 is a heavy multirole jet for gaining supremacy in the air, strikes on ground targets and command and control of other aircraft," Rostec said in a statement.
The Russian Su-57 fighter jet drew major attention both during its flight performance and at the exposition of the state arms exporter Rosoboronexport at the Aero India air show: Indian Air Force pilots stood in line to view the jet’s VR simulator, Rostec said.
"Today the Su-57 is the world’s sole fifth-generation fighter that has proven its efficiency in real combat conditions to counter Western-made air defense systems," it said.
The Su-57 is capable of employing a broad arsenal of precision weapons and features stealth capability against enemy radars, Rostec said.
"The aircraft’s export version evokes great interest of specialists and foreign customers," the Russian state tech corporation said.
