BRUSSELS, November 6. /TASS/. King Philippe of Belgium did not accept the resignation of the government headed by Prime Minister Bart De Wever and asked him to continue looking for a compromise on the national budget for 2027, the Royal Palace said.

"The King tasked the Prime Minister to continue talks on the budget," the statement indicates. No specific timeline is given for completion of the budgeting process.

"Leaders of all five parties in the ruling coalition confirmed the intention to achieve the tradeoff on the budget" during consultations with the King, VTM television said. This "became the cause for the King's decision to extend the authority of the government," the TV channel said.
