About 60% of voters in US dissatisfied with Trump’s work — CNN poll

According to preliminary results from the poll, about 20% of voters who supported Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election now view his performance negatively

NEW YORK, November 4. /TASS/. About 60% of Americans participating in the US midterm congressional elections do not approve of President Donald Trump’s performance, according to preliminary results from the CNN Voter Poll.

Roughly half of those who cast a vote expressed strong disapproval of the American leader’s work, according to the study. Moreover, about 20% of voters who supported Trump in the 2024 presidential election now view his performance negatively.

Approximately three-quarters of survey respondents stated that they are unhappy with the state of affairs in the country, with nearly 40% describing their feelings as anger. The primary reasons for this discontent are a negative view of the president and dissatisfaction with the economic situation, CNN noted.

About two-thirds of those surveyed believe Trump worsened the economic situation in the United States. Most of them attribute the rising cost of living directly to his administration’s policies, rather than to external circumstances. That said, the proportion of voters experiencing financial hardship due to inflation has remained roughly at the same level as it was during the 2024 presidential election.

The CNN Voter Poll, a nationwide survey of voters, combines interviews with voters conducted at polling stations on election day with tens of thousands of interviews carried out across the country in the weeks leading up to the election. The TV channel emphasizes that the data presented are preliminary estimates and may change once the final election results are taken into account.
