Iranian army commander says country won't back down from anyone, ever

The Iranian armed forces will retaliate to any aggression and will resolutely defend the country’s independence, territorial integrity, and security, Amir Hatami said

TEHRAN, August 24. /TASS/. Iran won't allow other countries to try to bully it into submission - not ever, Iranian army commander Amir Hatami said.

"The enemy must be aware that Iran will never be a ground for testing their plans and reckless ventures. The [Iranian] armed forces <…> will retaliate to any aggression and will resolutely defend the country’s independence, territorial integrity, and security," he said, as quoted by the IRNA news agency.

He warned Iran’s enemies that its armed forces "will foil their plans" and make them understand that Iran is not a place ""where you can come from the other side of the world and say, ‘I will redraw this country’s map.’"

"We will fight for ten generations, twenty generations, and we will certainly not allow this to happen. The only way is to make the enemy understand, through the language of force, that it will not be able to do what it wants," he stressed.

According to Press TV, he also accused the United States and Israel of hatching "intrigues and plots" against Iran, but, in his words, the Iranian armed forces "are prepared for any scenario."
