One more route for Russian gas supplies to Europe was through Ukraine but Kiev halted in use on instructions of its sponsors, Lubos Blaha said

MOSCOW, March 10. /TASS/. It is the United States that destroyed Nord Stream pipelines to sell its gas to Europeans and the truth about it is concealed, member of the European Parliament from Slovakia Lubos Blaha told TASS in an interview.

Washington set earlier the goal for itself to obtain European market for its liquefied gas, while the main obstacle was Russian gas, which "is much cheaper, much easier [for supplies], much more ecological; it is much more transparent," Blaha said.

"So what should you do if you want to sell American gas to European countries? What you need [is] to stop and block all these sources from Russia. First of all, you need to liquidate or eliminate the Nord Stream. They did it. Everybody knows that it was Americans who did it but yes, in the geopolitics sometimes the truth is concealed but it is [so] for sure," the lawmaker added.

One more route for Russian gas supplies to Europe was through Ukraine but Kiev halted in use on instructions of its sponsors, Blaha said. "Then you had a third last possible route: this TurkStream. So [Vladimir] Zelensky is also trying to eliminate this stream. This is just a game, it's just a game. It's a very dangerous game from the European Union," he noted.

"The European Union is the economic model based on the cheap energy sources from Russia," Blaha continued. "Now we have such huge problems with the economic competitiveness in the global economy because of this. Americans are buying their gas for $18. We are buying the gas now from Americans for $50, this liquid liquefied gas. It is absolutely unsustainable, and we are going to be in downfall economically," the politician indicated.

Zelensky did not merely attack the TurkStream pipeline but his task was to do harm to Europe, Blaha said. "I'm really shocked that European leaders are still behaving towards Zelensky like he is a kind of God. This is just like fanaticism. He's doing such things to Europe and we are sending the weapons, sending everything, we are the best friends. It's just terrible," the Slovak lawmaker added.
