Israeli artillery attacks positions of Syrian troops in province of Deraa

BEIRUT, March 31. /TASS/. Israeli troops launched artillery strikes on Syrian territory in the area of the border Yarmuk River, they opened fire on positions of Syrian troops west of the provincial center of Deraa (110 km south of Damascus), Al Mayadeen TV channel reported.

The attack caused material damage, while information about losses in the ranks of Syrian military personnel has not been provided.

The attack came after a drone launched from southern Syria towards the occupied Golan Heights intruded into Israeli airspace. An Israeli fighter jet destroyed an aerial target.

On March 26, Shiite militia Hezbollah launched rocket attacks from southern Lebanon against Israeli military positions in the Golan Heights in response to an air raid on the Hermel mountain region north of Baalbek (90 km from Beirut).

The formation's statement noted that Shiite fighters attacked the headquarters and barracks of the Israeli army in the village of Yarden. Over 50 shells were fired at them from multiple launch rocket systems.
