Nuclear safety maintained at Ukrainian nuclear power plants — IAEA

IAEA experts have been present at the Khmelnitsky, Rovno, and South Ukraine NPPs, as well as the Chernobyl site for a year

VIENNA, March 15. /TASS/. Nuclear safety is being maintained at Ukraine’s Khmelnitsky, Rovno, and South Ukraine Nuclear Power Plants (NPPs), the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said, citing its experts at these facilities.

"The IAEA experts present at the Khmelnitsky, Rovno and South Ukraine NPPs as well as at the Chernobyl site have reported that nuclear safety and security is being maintained despite the challenging war-time circumstances, including the frequent sound of air raid alarms at some of the facilities," it said. "The IAEA experts at the Rovno, South Ukraine and Khmelnitsky NPPs all rotated this week."

"The IAEA has continued to deliver equipment to help maintain nuclear safety and security in Ukraine. This week, two deliveries took place bringing the total to 40 since the armed conflict began," it added.
