Norway joins coalition to provide Kiev with air, missile defense systems

"The goal of the coalition led by Germany and France is to steadily strengthen Ukraine’s integrated air defenses," the statement stressed

BERLIN, March 7. /TASS/. Norway has joined an international coalition established to provide Ukraine with air and missile defense systems.

"A new signal for Ukraine: Norway is now also part of a joint coalition on air and missile defense," the German Defense Ministry said in a statement on the X social media network.

"The goal of the coalition led by Germany and France is to steadily strengthen Ukraine’s integrated air defenses," the statement stressed.

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry announced on February 15 that an international coalition had been created following a meeting at the Ramstein Air Base in Germany on military assistance to Ukraine, which would provide Kiev with air and missile defense systems. The ministry added that Germany and France would lead the coalition.

Moscow earlier sent a note to NATO countries over weapons supplies to Ukraine. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov pointed out that Russia would regard any cargo containing weapons for Ukraine as a legitimate target.
