US-led coalition’s aircraft violate Syrian airspace nine times in past day

According to deputy chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties in Syria Vadim Kulit, the Russian military police conducted patrols in the Aleppo, Raqqa, and al-Hasakah governorates

MOSCOW, December 10. /TASS/. The US-led coalition’s aircraft violated Syria’s airspace in the al-Tanf area nine times during the past day, Vadim Kulit, deputy chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties in Syria (a division of the Russian defense ministry), said on Sunday.

"Aircraft of the so-called international anti-terrorist coalition led by the United States continues to create dangerous situation that may cause air accident or incidents and escalate the situation in Syria’s airspace," he said. "Two pairs of the coalition’s F-15 fighter jets, two pairs of A-10 Thunderbolt attack bombers, a pair of F/A-18 Hornet deck-based fighters, as well as a Q-9 reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle violated Syria’s airspace in the al-Tanf area, across which international air routes run, nine times during the day."

According to Kulit, the Russian military police conducted patrols in the Aleppo, Raqqa, and al-Hasakah governorates.

"During the day, nine shelling attacks on the positions of government forces from the positions of the Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist group and Turkistan Islamic Party (both outlawed in Russia) were reported in the Idlib de-escalation zone. As a result of sniper fire by illegal armed groups on the positions of Syrian government forces near the settlement of Jubb al-Zarur in the Latakia governorate, one Syrian soldier was wounded," he added.
