Yemen not interested in bigger war in Middle East — envoy to Russia

Earlier, Houthi spokesman Yahya Saria insisted that launching missiles and drones was "the third operation in support of oppressed brothers in Palestine"

MOSCOW, November 1. /TASS/. Yemen does not want to expand hostilities in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone, Yemeni Ambassador to Moscow Ahmed Salem Al-Wahishi told reporters.

"The efforts are not aimed at spreading the war to the entire region," he said when asked whether Yemen would send troops to the Gaza Strip.

Earlier, Houthi spokesman Yahya Saria said that the Houthi rebels had delivered a series of drone, ballistic and cruise missile attacks against Israel. He also insisted that launching missiles and drones was "the third operation in support of oppressed brothers in Palestine."

The confrontation between the Yemeni military and supporters of Houthi has been going on in the country since August 2014. It boiled over after the invasion of the country in March 2015 by a Saudi-led coalition. In April 2022, the parties managed to agree on a truce, which expired on October 2. However, consultations have not ceased.
