US administration will never admit its role in Nord Stream sabotage — journalist

Washington’s policies are the most aggressive in the world, Seymour Hersh said

NEW YORK, February 18. /TASS/. The current US administration will under no circumstances admit its role in the sabotage of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 pipelines, US investigative journalist Seymour Hersh said.

"No matter what I write, no matter what specific details I have, this government is never going to admit it," he told the Consortium News portal in an interview on Friday.

In his words, Washington’s policies are the most aggressive in the world.

"The most aggressive country right now in the world probably is us," he said, mentioning in this context Washington’s policies regarding Taiwan.

On February 8, Hersh wrote in an article, citing sources, that US Navy divers had planted explosive devices under the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines under the cover of the BALTOPS exercise in June 2022 and Norwegians activated the bombs three months later. According to the journalist, the decision to conduct the operation was made by US President Joe Biden personally, following nine months of discussions with White House security specialists. White House National Security Council Spokesperson Adrienne Watson said in a comment to TASS that Hersh’s account was utterly false and complete fiction.
