Bulgarian expert: Lavrov clearly outlined tasks of Russia’s special military operation

Bulgarian expert on international relations Boyan Chukov noted that in the current conditions, Ukraine has actually ceased to be a party to future peace negotiations

SOFIA, January 19. /TASS/. Bulgarian expert on international relations Boyan Chukov believes that the main point at the Wednesday press conference of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov was to clearly define the tasks of the special military operation.

"For me, the most important focus of Sergey Lavrov's press conference was the statement that Russia's victory means the fall of the Nazi pro-Western regime in Kiev, the restoration of the borders of the LPR and DPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. These are clearly worded plans of Russia during the special military operation and the answer to the question of when Russia plans to stop. Lavrov's statements today put an end to uncertainty on this topic," the expert said.

Chukov noted that in the current conditions, Ukraine has actually ceased to be a party to future peace negotiations.

"Everyone understands that in this story, Kiev and [Ukrainian President Vladimir] Zelensky are not participants in negotiations on the future of Ukraine, they can only be conducted with the United States, which is the mastermind behind this crisis," he said.

"It seems to me that in this new situation, it is time to stop using the concept of "collective West", as the leading countries of the West have already begun to plan and play the game by their own rules to eventually get out of the situation with minimal losses, despite loud statements. The West is no longer a single team, a homogeneous community, otherwise Poland will never would not demand monetary compensation from Germany for the Second World War," he added.

On Wednesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a press conference on the results of the activities of Russian diplomacy in 2022.
