Bulgarian authorities deny reports of Su-25 aircraft provided Ukraine

It was reported on January 15 that 14 Soviet-made Su-25 ground-attack jets had been purchased from Bulgaria by NATO states and delivered to Ukraine

SOFIA, January 16. /TASS/. Bulgaria’s Defense Ministry has denied media reports about the country providing Sukhoi Su-25 aircraft to Ukraine through intermediaries.

"The Ministry of Defense has not sold and/or provided NATO countries with Su-25 aircraft intended for Ukraine," the ministry said in a statement in response to a request from reporters.

Foreign Minister Nikolay Milkov also rejected the reports. "I don’t have any information on the matter, this is the first time I’ve heard about it from you, unfortunately," he said.

Bloomberg reported on January 15 that 14 Soviet-made Su-25 ground-attack jets had been purchased from Bulgaria by NATO states and delivered to Ukraine.
