Russian security official says Western neoliberalism now evolves into fascism

It aims primarily at eradicating the Russian world, Nikolay Patrushev noted

MOSCOW, May 17. /TASS/. Secretary of Russia’s Security Council Nikolay Patrushev said the neoliberalism of the collective West is evolving into a fascist ideology directed against the Russian world.

He made the comments at a meeting of a scientific council of the Security Council.

"It’s important to understand that the global aggression against our country has not only a political and economic dimension, but also an ideological one," he said. "The situation around Russia's special military operation in Ukraine shows that the neoliberalism of the collective West is evolving right before our eyes into the ideology of neoliberal fascism, aimed primarily at eradicating the Russian world."

Patrushev said that the ideological confrontation is the most evident in the areas of values, morality and culture.

"The US and its allies consider impacting traditional Russian spiritual and moral values and culture as one of the main mechanisms for deterring and destroying the Russian Federation," he stated.

The Secretary of the Security Council said under these conditions, the formation of the state policy for the preservation and strengthening of traditional Russian spiritual and moral values along with the state cultural policy that meets modern realities and the demands of Russian society and putting it into legal acts acquires a particular importance.

"We will also discuss the current tasks of ensuring Russia's national security in this area in the course of our work," he said.
