Roscosmos CEO says he has not yet spoken to NASA Administrator nominee

Yury Borisov emphasized that Roscosmos will need to establish relations with the new NASA administration following Trump’s inauguration on January 20

MOSCOW, December 24. /TASS/. Roscosmos CEO Yury Borisov stated that he has not yet communicated with Jared Isaacman, who is expected to be appointed as the new head of NASA under the incoming Trump administration. Borisov made these remarks during an interview with Rossiya-24.

"It has just been announced that NASA will have a new administrator - Jared Isaacman. I am not personally acquainted with him yet," Borisov said.

He emphasized that Roscosmos will need to establish relations with the new NASA administration following Trump’s inauguration on January 20.

US President-elect Donald Trump previously announced his intention to nominate billionaire and space tourist Jared Isaacman as the new NASA Administrator. Earlier this year, Isaacman, 43, participated in the first Polaris Dawn commercial space mission. During the mission, he and engineer Sarah Gillis achieved a historic milestone by conducting the first-ever spacewalk performed by non-professional astronauts.
