Belarus in talks to join Russian lunar program, scientist confirms

MINSK, April 10. /TASS/. Talks to incorporate Belarus into the Russian lunar program are underway, says Vasily Gurskiy, Chief Academic Secretary of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

"We have indeed received such proposals, and we are working on them. The negotiation process is currently underway," he noted.

Previously, lead researcher at the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences Lev Zelyony announced that Minsk could be involved in the Russian lunar exploration program. He noted that "the Belarusian colleagues have rather vast expertise in electronics and mechanical devices that are also necessary for the lunar program."
