Russia-US space cooperation not to be stopped because of situation in Ukraine — NASA chief

The cooperation started in the midst of the Cold War with the Soviet Union, Bill Nelson recalled

NEW YORK, April 8. /TASS/. Cooperation between Russia and the United States on the civil space program will not be halted because of the situation in Ukraine, NASA Administrator Bill Nelson said on Friday.

"The professional relationship in the civilian space program between the cosmonauts and the astronauts, it is just steady, very professional. Remember this has been going on for a long time. Remember, we started in the midst of the Cold War with the Soviet Union," he said in an interview with CNN. In this connection, he recalled the Apollo-Soyuz spaceflight.

"That started this civilian cooperation with Russia and it continues to this day and is not going to stop because of the war," he stressed.
